Michael Owsley Joins KET’s Commonwealth Fund Board

KET’s Commonwealth Fund Board announces four new members
KET’s Commonwealth Fund for KET Inc., the fundraising arm of the statewide public television network, announces the appointment of four new members:
- Nana Lampton
Chair of Louisville-based American Life and Accident Insurance Company and its parent Hardscuffle, Inc., Lampton is currently Honorary Counsel to the Kingdom of Morocco; has served as director of the Committee of 200, a collaborative of the world’s leading businesswomen, as well as on the boards of Berea College, Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill, the Kentucky Historical Society and more. She is a lifetime member of The Corporation of Yaddo.
- Melanie Glasscock Simpson
President of KV Oil & Glass LLC, Glasscock Simpson is a former broadcast journalist and news anchor in Lexington. A longtime supporter of KET, she has hosted KET’s TeleFund, WinterPledge and the national PBS series Bake Decorate Celebrate, and co-chaired KET’s Summer Celebration. She has served in leadership roles for various charitable and educational organizations including Lexington Children’s Theater, The Lexington Cancer Foundation and the Bluegrass Community Foundation.
- D.R. Ball
Ball works as the Site Acquisition Manager at Ball Homes, one of America’s top 100 homebuilders, headquartered in Lexington. A graduate of the University of Richmond in Virginia, he interned with U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell then worked for two years as a legislative aid to Congressman Andy Barr in Washington, D.C. He returned to Lexington and earned his MBA at the University of Kentucky. He grew up with KET, thanks to the longtime involvement of his family and grandparents, Mira and the late Don Ball.
- Michael Owsley
Founding member and law partner with English, Lucas, Priest & Owsley, LLP in Bowling Green, Owsley is considered an authority on school district law and policy. A longtime civic leader, he has served as the past president of the Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce, director of the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, chair of the Leadership Kentucky Foundation and director of the Kentucky Council on Economic Education.
The Commonwealth Fund for KET supports the mission and work of KET by managing and raising contributions that support local productions, educational services and the acquisition of PBS and other national programs.
