Gaines Penn to participate in Leadership Kentucky program

D. Gaines Penn was recently selected to participate in the 2018 class of Leadership Kentucky. This worthwhile state leadership program takes participants all around Kentucky, to participate in challenging programs developed for leaders and emerging leaders in Kentucky and introducing them to the many aspects of life in the Commonwealth.
The class will travel across Kentucky this year for seven monthly sessions (June through December) connecting and inspiring leaders and broadening the perspectives of each participant. From their opening retreat in Berea, to Louisville, Paducah, Bowling Green, Pikeville, Frankfort, Lexington and Northern Kentucky, they will go on an incredible journey to see and learn about Kentucky.
Locations for class sessions vary from year to year. Topics covered during this year’s sessions will be leadership, Kentucky history, education, healthcare, government, energy, military, economic development, media, natural resources and environment, law and justice, regionalism and global issues.
About Gaines Penn
Gaines is a partner at ELPO who has significant experience working with businesses on a variety of matters, including employment law, contracts, protecting trade secrets and many other matters. He also works extensively with medical care providers. He spends a considerable amount of time drafting and negotiating contracts for health care providers and advising them on regulatory issues. He works with healthcare providers on supply contracts, human resources issues, and regulatory issues. He has experience helping healthcare providers recover incentive payments from Medicaid for meeting meaningful use requirements, addressing Stark Law complaints, which center around alleged fraud and abuse issues, and physician contracts.
He serves as General Counsel to the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce and to the Transpark.
