ELPO sponsors Big Brothers, Big Sisters program

Again this year, ELPO sponsored SoKY Spirits, which benefits Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Central Kentucky. The event is the 17th annual fall fundraiser for the organization.

Big Brothers Big Sisters is a mentoring program for children and youth. The program matches responsible adults with children, with a goal of creating a long-lasting relationship that will benefit the child and adult. If you’d like to find out more about how to volunteer, you can find that here.
About Big Brothers Big Sisters
The Bowling Green Big Brothers and Sisters organization was founded in October, 1973. The program was originally a part of Youth Bureau, Inc. and received a three year grant from the Kentucky Crime Commission – L. E. A. A. Beginning in 1976, Big Brothers and Sisters was operated with funds from Bowling Green City Government, the United Way of Bowling Green-Warren County.
An additional branch office was opened in Glasgow to serve Barren County, Kentucky in the spring of 1996 with the support of United Way of Southern Kentucky. The entire agency then became Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Central Kentucky. Then in January 2003 an additional branch office opened in Scottsville to serve Allen County, Kentucky with the support of the Laura Turner Foundation. Advisory committees were established in each county consisting of concerned citizens from the communities.
