ELPO Law Receives Awards for Community Volunteerism

On April 18, 2019, the law firm of English, Lucas, Priest & Owlsey, LLP (ELPO Law) was recognized at the 12th Annual WKU Nonprofit Luncheon with the 2019 Philanthropic Business Award as presented by the WKU Nonprofit Association in conjunction with the WKU School of Kinesiology, Recreation and Sport. The firm was recognized alongside two community nonprofits including Room in the Inn Bowling Green, presented with the 2019 Emerging Nonprofit Award, and CASA of South Central Kentucky, presented with the 2019 Established Nonprofit Award.

On April 29, 2019, ELPO Law was nominated and then awarded with the 2019 Volunteers in Action Team Spirit Award, which recognizes a group that has worked together to provide outstanding volunteer service in the community, at a reception sponsored by BB&T, BGMU, and the American Legion Post 23. Other award winners included Anne Grubbs Spirit of Service Award winner Chris Dressler and Rookie Award winner Cheryl Lacefield with the Eloise B. Houchens Center. The Volunteers in Action also presented the BB&T Spirit of Community Award, which recognizes an organization or business that merits special recognition for volunteer service in the community, to The Son Rhea Foundation.
