ELPO Law Attorney Brett Reynolds Named President of the Kentucky Land Title Association Board of Directors

Last week the Kentucky Land Title Association (KYLTA) installed ELPO Law attorney Brett Reynolds as President of its Board of Directors for 2023. Reynolds was subsequently sworn in as President at the association’s annual meeting held in Louisville, KY on November 10th.
The KYLTA is a statewide trade association representing the land title industry in Kentucky. With members throughout Kentucky, KYLTA membership comprises of title insurance agents, real estate attorneys and underwriters to doing business in Kentucky. KYLTA is affiliated with the American Land Title Association, the national association for the land title insurance industry. The association is dedicated to educating the consumer on the true value of title insurance.
KYLTA members provide certainty, efficiency and security to real estate transactions by conducting title searches, examinations, closings, and issuing title insurance to protect real property owners and mortgage lenders against losses from defects in titles.
KYLTA provides a comprehensive program of regulatory and legislative advocacy on the state and federal level, educational resources, and the most up-to-date industry news and information. KYLTA plays a vital role in the success of the land title industry in Kentucky, and continues to be a vibrant and responsive organization for the benefit of the members and consumers it serves.
Brett A. Reynolds is a partner in the Bowling Green law firm of English, Lucas, Priest & Owsley, LLP. He is a graduate of Centre College and the University of Kentucky College of Law. Brett’s law practice primarily focuses in the areas of banking, business and corporate, real estate (commercial and residential), business startup services, landlord/tenant, bankruptcy, and immigration.
Brett provides services as an agent for First American Title Insurance Company, including issuing title insurance policies and conducting both commercial and residential closings. Brett represents buyers and sellers in both residential and commercial sales from the inception of the deal through closing. He has assisted both sellers and buyers in the negotiation and acquisition of retail, manufacturing and service businesses as well as commercial asset purchase and stock purchase transactions and large mergers and acquisitions.
Brett handles all aspects of commercial lending transactions and bank financings, including federally-backed (Fannie Mae/HUD) non-recourse financings and has addressed title issues and written policies for several multi-million dollar commercial transactions in Kentucky (ranging from $3,000,000 to $60,000,000) secured by hotel, office, medical, retail, multifamily (including manufactured housing communities), self-storage and industrial properties. Brett also represents lenders and entities in the acquisition, construction, and financing of residential and commercial real estate properties.
He is a member of the American, Kentucky, and Bowling Green/Warren County Bar Associations in addition to the American Immigration Lawyers Association. Brett has been awarded as the Outstanding Young Lawyer in Kentucky by the Kentucky Bar Association, as the Bowling Green-Warren County Community Volunteer of the Year, and with the Big Brother of the Year Award from Big Brothers/ Big Sisters of South Central Kentucky. Brett has also previously served as Chair and Co-Chair of Leadership Bowling Green, Chair of the Leadership Bowling Green Advisory Committee, President of the Public Theater of Kentucky, on the Board of Directors for Big Brothers/ Big Sisters of South Central Kentucky, and is a graduate of Leadership Kentucky. Brett currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce and Champion Petfoods USA as well as on the ethics committee for the Kentucky Bar Association.
