Eight ELPO Law Attorneys Named 2023 Super Lawyers; One Named Rising Star

Eight attorneys at English, Lucas, Priest & Owsley, LLP (ELPO Law) have been named 2023 Super Lawyers, and one named as a Rising Star.

Super Lawyers recognizes attorneys who have distinguished themselves in their legal practice. Candidates are nominated and chosen based on an evaluation of 12 eligibility requirements which includes verdicts and settlements, experience, certifications, and pro bono service. All attorneys are recognized for their high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement and undergo a rigorous selection process. The Super Lawyers selection process is peer influenced and research driven, selecting the top 5% of attorneys and are made on an annual, state-by-state basis.

The following ELPO Law attorneys have been named as 2023 Super Lawyers: E. Kenly Ames (11th consecutive year) for Business Litigation and Intellectual Property Litigation; Charles E. English (17th consecutive year) for the areas of Business Litigation, Business/ Corporate, and Insurance Coverage; Charles E. “Buzz” English, Jr. (16th consecutive year) for the areas of Business Litigation, Civil Litigation (defense), and Eminent Domain; Kurt W. Maier (14th consecutive year) for Personal Injury – General and Personal Injury – Products; W. Cravens Priest, III (7th consecutive year) for Workers’ Compensation, Employment & Labor, and Schools & Education; Park L. Priest (12th consecutive year) for General Litigation and Civil Litigation (defense); Michael S. Vitale (4th year) for Business Litigation, Banking, and Employment Litigation and Robert A. Young (3rd year) for Personal Injury.

Sarah P. Jarboe (Environmental Law) was named to the Rising Stars list for the fourth time for 2023. The Rising Stars list is comprised of the top up-and-coming attorneys under the age of 40 who have been in practice ten years or less. Each year, no more than 2.5 percent of the lawyers in each state receive this honor.
