Overview

“In life, in family, and in business, there is no greater gift we can give clients than peace of mind,” says attorney Heather Coleman Brooks. “Often clients call us when they are uncertain about a major life decision, whether it is starting or selling a successful business or planning their personal estate.”

For Heather, building relationships with these clients is the best part of practicing law. “Whatever our clients need, we are here to help. We ensure we put a plan in place that prepares them for the challenges ahead.”

Heather works with businesses, families, and individuals in areas related to business and corporate formation and management, business succession planning, trust and estate planning, and probate administration. She currently serves as the Chair of the Estate Planning and Probate Practice Group.

Heather assists businesses of all sizes from start-up to success, including formation and entity selection, management, operations, negotiations, and purchases and sales of existing entities. Coming from a large family of small business owners, she has a special appreciation for those who have an entrepreneurial spirit and knows that a great business idea will only be as successful as the plan put in place to achieve it.

For individuals and families seeking estate planning, Heather helps them implement a plan to meet their individual needs. She discusses her clients’ goals and presents various options to assist them in planning for the disposition of their assets, naming someone to make medical and financial decisions when they are unable, protecting their assets for their loved ones, and minimizing estate taxes.
