Attorney Sarah Jarboe organizes environmental law conference

Sarah Jarboe, partner and attorney at ELPO, planned this year’s annual Environmental Law Seminar for the Kentucky Bar Association. She is serving as Chair of the KBA‘s Section of Environment, Energy and Resources Law.
The conference took place in Lexington, Ky., on April 21, in honor of Earth Day (April 22). LaJuana Wilcher, partner and attorney at ELPO, spoke as part of a panel that discussed the Clean Water Act.
This year, the seminar brought in a variety of national-level speakers and Kentucky government officials, including:
- John Cruden, Former Assistant Attorney General, Environment and Natural Resources Division, U.S. Department of Justice; President-Elect American College of Environmental Lawyers;
- Phillip Brooks, Director, Air Enforcement Division, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency;
- Amanda Waters, General Counsel for the National Association of Clean Water Agencies; and
- Representatives of the Kentucky Department for Environmental Protection, the Department for Natural Resources, and the Public Service Commission.
The Environment, Energy & Resources Law Section’s annual meeting and reception were part of the conference.
