ELPO staff pitch in for United Way’s Day of Caring

Staff from ELPO volunteered with the United Way of Southern Kentucky‘s Day of Caring on July 25 at Barren River Area Child Advocacy Center (BRACAC). The volunteers did some cleanup and painting.
ELPO staff donate time each year for the Day of Caring, which is a structured volunteer opportunity that provides participants with a peek at volunteering. As part of the Day of Caring, businesses make a commitment to offer their employees a chance to “step away from their desks” to provide hands-on, volunteer labor for a wide variety of projects. Team participation in the Day of Caring aids in building camaraderie and goodwill among employees while also helping the community.
About BRACAC
Located in Bowling Green/Warren County, the BRACAC is a regional Children’s Advocacy Center that serves Allen, Barren, Butler, Edmonson, Hart, Logan, Metcalfe, Monroe, Simpson and Warren Counties. The Center works closely with other professionals through protocols of the region’s 10 Multidisciplinary Teams to coordinate and provide best practices services for victims of child sexual abuse and their non-offending members in one neutral, safe and child friendly location. Offenders, even if only accused but not convicted, are not permitted at the Center. The Center provides consultation to its teams and hospitals and services to children as determined necessary and as staffing and resources allow, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. All services are provided on a first-come basis at no expense to a child’s family.
