Sarah Jarboe, LaJuana Wilcher presented at Kentucky Water Law Conference

Environmental attorneys Sarah Jarboe and LaJuana Wilcher recently gave presentations at the 2016 Water Law Series, a program of the Utility Leadership Institute and presented, in part, by the Kentucky Rural Water Association. The event was held in Bowling Green.

LaJuana Wilcher gave a presentation on the Clean Water Rule: Definition of Waters of the United States. Her presentation focused on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s promulgation of a Rule defining the scope of waters subject to regulation under the Clean Water Act. She discussed the Rule’s potential effects on water and wastewater utilities, prior EPA efforts to develop the Rule, and litigation spawned by the Rule.

Sarah Jarboe discussed the Clean Air Act: Risk Management Program Rule & Water Utilities. Her presentation focused on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Risk Management Program Rule, which addresses chemical accident prevention at facilities that use certain hazardous substances. She also discussed the Rule’s potential impacts on water and wastewater utilities.
