Shelley D. Chatfield joins ELPO Law

Shelley D. Chatfield recently joined ELPO as an Associate attorney. She practices mainly in the areas of education law, product liability law and employment law. She is a native of Owensboro who recently relocated to the area from Chicago.

Shelley has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Washington University in St. Louis and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Kentucky College of Law, where she was the Notes Editor of the Law Journal. She is admitted to practice law in Kentucky and Illinois.

Shelley started her career as a legislative correspondent in the office of Kentucky Senator Wendell Ford. Shelley served as one of the first law clerks for U.S. District Court Judge Jennifer B. Coffman, judge for the Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky, and then served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney based in Lexington, handling civil cases involving health care fraud, prison litigation, and medical malpractice defense work.
